My dog (2yrs) had diarrhea and was vomiting. I took him to his vet and the dog injected 2 meds and prescribed Metronidazole 250mg to be taken daily w/food (full stomach). The vet said to give him babyfood till he's better. Once my dog started eating the babyfood, I gave him his 1st pill. However, I haven't given him the 2nd dosage because my dog won't eat or drink water. He has a lil diarrhea and is going frequently although it's not much what he excretes. My question: can & should I cont to give Metronidazole on an empty stomache? He's lost his appetite and I worry of giving the med cause of this.
I'm trying this on my 2 senior dogs, one has bladder cancer and the other has seizures. My cancer dog is already on pain meds, and this didn't really seem to have an effect on him. My seizure dog, on the other hand, has arthritis but can't take the traditional NSAIDs and doggy pain pills because of his seizure medications, so I'm trying CBD oil instead. I have to say, he's moving faster, sleeping better and seems a little sassier since being on it, nesting and messing up his bed like in the "old days." I've noticed no adverse side effects either, so I'm going to stick with it.
Day 0 and Day 1. My daughter (11) and I (35) both had tissue-welding T&As on May 25th. Surgery day; I slept, took my meds (Toradol and Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen) and drank plenty of water and ate a little soup. My daughter stayed up, watched movies, took her meds (H/A and Ibuprofen) and was able to eat fine. Both of us felt pretty good at the end of the day. Day 1 – Early daughter got up and vomited blood and food; bleeding stopped after a few Hydrogen Peroxide rinses and she was able to go back to sleep. I was up that morning and daughter stayed in bed. I was able to continue to drink water, (I didn’t try anything else) eat more and move around fine. I took naps, daughter woke up later, but did not sleep after she got up. We continued meds and both were able to eat okay. End day 1 no additional issues.
